The Japanese Encephalitis Vaccination Campaign was held at Shanti Niketan School, Assagao, on 29th June 2009. Inorder to prevent the children from getting the life threatening disease called ‘Japanese Encephalitis which affects children aged between 1 to 15 years. The disease is spread by Mosquito’s who are affected with the ‘Japanese Encephalitis Virus’ which breed in stagnant water. The symptoms of this disease are high fever, unconsciousness, convulsions, paralysis, death and even leave a child mentally or physically handicaped for life.
